Please join us on trip to the Newman Farm in Central Saanich British Columbia. In collaboration with the Farmlands Trust (Greater Victoria) Society we will be visiting the historic Newman Farm for a tour and learning about the soils found in this area. We will also have the opportunity to look at data collected from soil analyses at the farm and discuss potential reasons and management recommendations based on what is found.
Getting there: Please note that you must organization your own transportation to the event. Public transportation is available to the Farm from Swartz Bay or Victoria (involves about 20 minutes of walking). A carpool spreadsheet is also available upon registration for those looking for a ride.

Located at the Swartz Bay Ferry Terminal, in long-term parking. From the terminal, follow the zebra crossing 150 metres past the passenger pickup and short-term parking lots.
Taking Public Transit from Swartz Bay Terminal to Newman Farm:
Duration: ~40 min
Directions:
Take Bus 72 towards Downtown
Get off at East Saanich at Newman bus stop (30th stop)
Walk north on East Saanich toward Newman Rd and turn right
Walk 1 km east down Newman Rd (Newman Rd will curve right and turn into Old V South Rd)
Notes on the Bus:

Bus departs from Swartz Bay every 30 min on the hour and half hour
