2026 PRSSS AGM and Spring Workshop: Soils and People
Explore the interconnectedness of humans and their impacts on soil over time with PRSSS!
The 2026 PRSSS AGM Conference and Spring Workshop will be showcasing all that is new and exciting in the world of soil science. Our hybrid Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held in Vancouver on Saturday, March 14th, 2026, between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM PST at the Italian Cultural Centre (ICC). Our theme this year is Soils and People, with a focus on the interconnectedness of humans and their impacts on soil over time. Topics of interest include soil and human health, urban soils, cultural aspects of soil, and more! Stay tuned for upcoming info on speakers, panelists, and workshops.
If cutting-edge speakers and hands-on learning were not enough, we are also hosting our Student Poster Competition. Open to all post-secondary students (in-person and virtually), this competition offers a platform to share your research, proposals, or topics of interest with the rest of our membership. Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, as well as the People’s Choice. Enriching discussions and ample networking opportunities await!

Poster Competition Details
Follow these instructions in 2026 PRSSS Poster Competition being held at our 2026 PRSSS AGM – Soils and Peoples.
Eligibility:
- Be a post-secondary student (undergraduate or graduate)
- Plan to attend the AGM Conference and select “Yes” to the Student Poster Competition in the Google RSVP form
- Have a poster on a soil science topic or with a soil science component. Posters can include research findings, proposals, school projects, or general topics of interest.
All posters submitted by Sunday, February 15, 2026, will enter the competition and the top 3 winners will be awarded during the 2025 AGM. Those who miss the deadline are still eligible for the People’s Choice Award which will be decided on the day of the AGM. Submit your poster as a .pdf/.pptx to prsssemail@gmail.com with the subject line: Last Name, First Name – PRSSS Poster Submission. Recommended poster size 3ft X 4ft.
We are offering reimbursement for poster printing up to $45, so don’t let the cost hold you back from sharing your passion. Please include your receipt with your submission and the desired reimbursement amount.
Prizes include:
- 1st: CA$300.00
- 2nd: CA$200.00
- 3rd: CA$100.00
Additionally, those interested in presenting their posters in-person will be eligible to compete for the People’s Choice Award at the day of the AGM. Prize:
